Walking in a Winter Wonderland
Santa Clause will be making an early appearance at Breast Cancer Campaign's Winter Wonderland Friendship Walk on Sunday 9 December.
Campaign is calling walkers of all abilities to step out and raise money to help the charity continue researching the cure for breast cancer. The six mile walk will take place in Henley-on-Thames and walkers can take in the lush surroundings on the circular route along the Thames Path. Afterwards walkers can unwind with a glass of mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas carols by local school children.
Henley MP Boris Johnson said: "I am delighted to support Breast Cancer Campaign's Winter Wonderland Walk in Henley-on-Thames. I hope everyone involved has a very enjoyable day and money is raised to help Breast Cancer Campaign continue researching the cure for breast cancer."
The walk is being jointly organised by Paula Howard from Henley-on-Thames and Breast Cancer Campaign. Paula organised her first Friendship Walk earlier in the year raising more than £1,400 for the charity in support of her mother who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Paula said: "I am really looking forward to the Winter Wonderland Friendship Walk with Breast Cancer Campaign. The Two Bridges Friendship Walk earlier in the year was a fantastic success and we hope everyone will join us and help make the Winter Walk even more successful. This will be a great occasion to bring the community together and help raise money for a fantastic cause."
