Henley Weather Summary for July 2012

We did wonder if summer was going to arrive with the last three months being so wet and July showed little signs of any change. Indeed the wet weather continued right up to the 16th with rain being recorded on every day albeit very light on the odd occasion. In total we had 20 days in all. So only 4 from the 17th on, where we would normally expect around 7. So a large increase there and it's no surprise that rainfall totals were above average too with 62mm being recorded against 38mm. Temperatures were also well out from the average at 20.8°C compared to the 22.3°C we could expect. And if we had not had summer in the week from the 21st it would have shown a greater discrepancy. There were some cool nights as well over the month which reflected in the averages also being down but not as much as the maximum; 11.66°C this month compared to the 12.8°C we could expect. We also had at least three thunderstorms or more accurately heavy showers with thunder!
